.

Description

From the car park, go up the ski slope, taking care to stay on the edge (in Piedmont, it is forbidden to cross or go up ski slopes, either for ski mountaineers or snowshoers). You leave it almost immediately, turning left and entering the wide and very evident Fornalino valley. This valley is prone to avalanches, so it should be tackled with stable snow. The route becomes steeper and steeper, except for a central section where the gradient decreases for a short distance. The final part becomes steep again and is tackled with increasingly narrow zig-zags. Beautiful views of the imposing Pizzo Andolla and the entire Monte Rosa massif. The descent is along the same route as the ascent.

Fornalino Pass, from Alpe Cheggio
domenica 16 giugno 2024
