Introduction

The Mirador Astron贸mico de Sicasumbre, located in the south of the island of Fuerteventura, precisely in the municipality of P谩jara, is an extraordinary starry sky observation point.

.

Description

Located about 300 metres above sea level, it offers a unique view of the constellations and is particularly popular with astronomy enthusiasts. This impressive site has a parking area, information panels and directions for recognising the main constellations. In addition, there is a horizontal and a vertical sundial, instruments that make the experience even more enthralling.

Savvy astronomers will find dedicated stands to set up their telescopes and cameras, a detail that makes the Mirador ideal for in-depth observations and astronomical photography. It is advisable to bring warm clothes, as, despite Fuerteventura's mild climate, the wind can be intense and the evenings cool

The Mirador's isolated location, far from light pollution, allows for a clear view of several constellations. In spring, during the early hours of the night, three main formations can easily be observed: Virgo, with its main star Spica, Boyero, characterised by the brilliant Arcturus, and Cuervo, easily recognisable by its rhombus shape.

To reach the Mirador Astron贸mico de Sicasumbre requires a journey of about one hour by car from the island's capital. The difficulty of the route is low, making it accessible to all those who wish to have a unique experience under the starry sky of Fuerteventura.
