Introduction
The chapel dedicated to Saint Magdalene of Sorrows, located in Pianas in the municipality of Donnas, in Valle d'Aosta, is an evocative example of mountain religious architecture, immersed in a fascinating natural setting. It stands on a plateau of glacial origin overlooking the central valley, above the village of Vert. Built in 1895, the chapel has been an important spiritual reference point for the local community and, thanks to careful restoration completed in 1989, has been preserved in its original form.
