Access

The access is mainly from the village of Pescarzo di Capo di Ponte (638 m), following a route that alternates between cemented, cobbled and dirt stretches, passing through ancient rural nuclei, chestnut groves and panoramic clearings. The itinerary, which lacks specific signs for the bivouac, can be recognised by the rare markers consisting of two overlapping blue segments. The route, with about 820 metres of positive altitude difference and 2 hours and 10 minutes of ascent, follows varied paths, with some steep sections and occasional seasonal water at the bottom.

Introduction

The Bivacco Adamone is located near Capo di Ponte, on the southern slopes of Monte Adamone, in Valcamonica (Brescia province). Converted from an alpine hut, it is a solid two-storey masonry construction, immersed in a natural setting that provides an opportunity for hikers to rest and shelter. Located at an altitude of 1,458 metres, it is an important reference point for those who walk in the area and wish to explore the surrounding peaks, such as Monte Adamone and Monte Elto. Its panoramic position allows views of the Concarena, Val Camonica, Pizzo Badile Camuno and the imposing Adamello Group, providing a broad view of the area's main peaks.

Description

The bivouac is free and unsupervised, with twelve beds (mattresses and blankets) located on the upper floor, where there is a stove and everything necessary for an overnight stay in a mountain environment. On the ground floor there is a kitchen, equipped with a fireplace, oven, gas cooker (with cylinder), sink, dishes, tables and chairs. There is a first-aid kit, a first-aid kit and additional items such as two fire extinguishers and mobile furniture. Indoor lighting is provided by a solar panel, while outside there is a fountain (the water supply varies according to the season), barbecues and tables with benches. Near the bivouac, next to a flag, is an altar carved out of a boulder.
The bivouac has no "mains" electricity or permanent water supply: water, which is often only available outside, needs to be checked according to season. There is no charging service for electronic devices. Despite its simplicity, the bivouac is well equipped for short-term stops and to offer shelter in case of need, provided that drinking water and provisions can be procured independently. Other destinations that can be reached from the bivouac are Monte Adamone, Monte Elto and other peaks in the area.
Due to its location in a protected area, hikers are asked to show the utmost respect for the environment, avoiding any form of impact (waste, unauthorised fires). The area is characterised by vegetal biodiversity typical of transitional forests and the presence of old historic mule tracks, testimonies of the Camuna rural culture.
