Description

From the small car park, follow the inter-modal road that leads to the Artavaggio plans in 8 km.
Possible shortcuts alleviate the boredom of the route, which in any case takes place in a spectacular setting from which you can see all the mountains "the closest to Milan".
From the Artavaggio plateau one climbs the slopes looking for the most fun.
After the horrible pyramids of the Nicola refuge, leaving the beautiful Cazzaniga refuge to the left, one reaches the final slopes with a traverse after passing a small gully (possibly directly, steep).
Go up these slopes as you like, the easiest way is on the left.

You can also go up from Moggio (where for the lazy ones there is a cable car to the Artavaggio plains) avoiding the car section towards the summit.
Park up near the post office, follow the road behind it for a stretch until you reach a steep little road (signposted for the Cazzaniga hut) which reaches a cross-country road.
Follow this road past a few mountain huts to the Faggio plateau, where it becomes a path that crosses the southern slope of the mountain for a long stretch.
Leaving the paths to the Pesciola huts and Prà Redont on the left, you join a path coming from below and reach the former Casari hut.
In this stretch, watch out for ice and slavinette.
After the hut, leave the path to the right for the Artavaggio plateau and (large cairn) enter the forest, which you climb up to a dirt track that you follow to the left to reach the white plateau dominated by the cliff on which the Cazzaniga hut stands, one of the most beautiful places in the Lombardy Pre-Alps.
You head towards the hut, which you reach with a final steep section, then as in the previous itinerary.
