Lake Sasso, from Introbio
Introduction
A beautiful winter hike alternative to the ascents to Capanna Grassi or the Santa Rita refuge, with the same length but less strenuous. From the lake, it takes a couple of tiring hours to reach the summit of the Pizzo dei Tre Signori.Description
From the Introbio car park, a series of shortcuts lead first to the San Carlo spring (1h00') and then to the second Troggia car park, near an agriturismo.
On the left is a path that runs along the right bank of the Troggia, on the right the road continues.
In winter, snowshoes are mostly useless on the road, depending on snow conditions.
The two routes rejoin just before the Biandino gorge.
Leaving the route to the right for the Capanna Grassi you continue towards the Madonna di Biandino hut, beyond which on the left you will find the path leading to the rifugio Santa Rita.
We ignore it and continue towards the bottom of the valley until we reach the Sasso alpine pasture.
Before the alpine pasture, we ascend to the left, aiming for a small gorge, after which we reach a small dam, to the right of which we ascend a slope that leads to the lake, which we reach by descending a few metres.
