Punta della Civetta, from Bocchetta di Margosio
Description
At Bocchetta di Margrosio, take the path that branches off to the right of the bocchetta (Sessera side), which soon leads to the ridge line. With a moderate slope, you reach the peak of Mount Massaro (beautiful views of the plains and Mount Rosa). Once past the peak, the path loses height, reaching a depression, and then returns to gain height until reaching the long peak of Mount Rubello. We follow the entire crest of Mount Rubello to reach the San Bernardo oratory. Go around the building on the right and take the path that quickly loses altitude, reaching the Stavello pass. If you want to continue to the Civetta peak, cross the whole of the bocchetta and take the path that starts to the right of the remains of the restaurant. Follow the path, which is not marked, until it reverses direction, and you will soon reach the summit of Mount Tirlo (remains of the Dolcinian fortifications). On the summit, with a minimum of attention, take the track of the path that leads to the Pontigge pass. At the pass, take the path (marked by the signs of the Via della fede), which soon leads to a fork in the path. At the fork, ignore the path to the right and take the one that climbs to the left, and you will soon reach the summit of the Punta della Civetta. For the return journey, it is best to return to the Bocchetta delle Pontiggie) follow the roads that branch off, first from the Bocchetta di Pontigge and then from the Bocchetta di Stavello, on the Sessera side, leading back to the Bocchetta di Margrosio.
