Monte Penzo and Monte Liprando, from Pentema
      
    Access
From Genoa, drive up the SS45 to Torriglia. After crossing the village, at a crossroads, keep left and, further on, turn left again onto a narrow carriageway that finally reaches Pentema.
 
Introduction
From Pentema, above Torriglia, a pleasant walk leads to Liprando and the Penzo cap.ta, via Madonna della Guardia. The views on a good day are extensive.
.Description
From the small car park at Pentema (840 m), climb up a mule track, which is very ruined in places and slows the walk. The path is wide and we pass the ruins of now abandoned farmhouses. Continue as far as Madonna della Guardia di Pentema and with due respect, you can visit the interior... Afterwards, cut level to the ridge, then continue up and down to a signposted fork: to the left is the Liprando, with a final steep section. From the summit, 1122 m, the view is extraordinary, given the excellent visibility. Descending again, at first very carefully, we retrace a piece already done, ignoring a couple of branches that descend towards the ruins of villages in the Pentemina valley. From a tree, the diversions to the Penzo chapel (1059m) is marked and by climbing up again, a short distance, you reach the place where there is also a nice bench, useful for a lunch break (3h total going). 
After a pleasant break, you descend on the opposite slope until you reach the Fie geometric figures, returning with the morning road in 1h15.
In summary Dif. E - 4h15 Tot. (3h and 1h15 ret. excl. stops) - 9 km - height difference +400 m. Walking comfort: poor. Best period: from spring to autumn. Tour interest: medium/high. Time: excellent
