Take the state road to Madonna di Campiglio, near the bridge over the Nambrone Sarca and leave your car in the dedicated clearing where there are also picnic tables. From there we take the unpaved road that runs along the Nambrone sarca for a good part. The road climbs quite steeply from the first few metres until it reaches a few hairpin bends, from where it is possible to see one of the many underground water collection cisterns that the Surgiva spring takes to bottle. We proceed along the dirt road until we reach a fork where, keeping to the left, the road continues to climb and just doesn't want to know how to smooth its path. After about an hour's walk, we come to a large alpine hut where there are some beautiful renovated farmsteads, and continuing along the road we come to a plateau from where the path for the Amola waterfall tour begins.

Description

As the hour is favourable, we are about to take the path that immediately enters the forest, winding its way through fir and larch trees, crossing small bridges and ladders we arrive in front of the waterfall that from a good height descends into the gorge, producing countless sprays and clouds of water. The path is very beautiful as it takes place within a forest, which is crossed by the river produced by the waterfall and by the waters coming from the lake at the top of the Cornisello, giving rise to several small bridges to cross. Once you have made it all the way around, which you can do in thirty minutes, you can head to the nearby Nambrone refuge where food lovers can sample typical local specialities. Once refreshed, we hurry back as the sky, not to be denied, has begun to cover itself with clouds and the sky threatens rain. In fact, this valley is called the 'Valley of Tears' by the locals because of its sudden change and formation of rain-laden clouds. No sooner do we start our descent than the sun begins to peep out of the sky, and it accompanies us all the way to the car, although we can clearly see that above Cornisello the clouds are increasingly black. For the lazier ones, it is possible to reach the Nabrone refuge, from where the path for the waterfall tour runs, by car, continuing on the road in the direction of Madonna di Campiglio until a hairpin bend where the road signs indicate the Nambrone valley with its homonymous refuge and the Cornisello refuge. Once you reach the large clearing where the Nambrone refuge is located, the path is to the left of the old cable car departure point that led to the Enel construction site near the alpine lake where a dam was to be built. Those who wish to continue along the path can reach the lake and consequently the Cornisello hut, from where, weather permitting, it is possible to admire a wonderful view of the entire valley.
