From Crocetta Pass to Rapallo
Access
With the facility closed, you can take advantage of the few bus trips or use two cars. In this case it is longer, leaving one at the Crocetta pass (599 m) above Rapallo.
Introduction
A medium-length excursion (the downhill part was opened in November 2021), but not very strenuous, as it is almost exclusively flat and downhill...
Description
With short ups and downs, the sanctuary (612 m) is reached. Half an hour beyond the religious building, a signpost points to a descent (Tuia), which is steep at first. A few sharp bends make the route change direction. In the meantime, continuing downhill, we pass a few ruins and a diversion that leads back to Montallegro. Having discarded a further branch to the Montallegro mule track, we plunge further into the vegetation, descending until we lap the Tuia torrent, which forms small waterfalls and ponds (despite the drought), in a setting that is now fun (!). You cross the water first twice and then a third time and from some buildings the track becomes a small road, comfortable and almost level. Finally, after seeing a building with the mill wheel still attached to the house, you come out onto the Aurelia, at the beginning of Via Tuia. Past the railway, with a short climb, the right direction is towards the sea. Afterwards you will head back to where you left the first car.
In summary. dif. E - disl. +50 mt -650 mt - 9.5 km x approx. 3h45 Tot + return to the car (2 km and 30'/40').
+ all the breaks to see the various places you come across.
Routing comfort: good/very good, but poor during the descent.
Best period: autumn to spring (avoid periods after heavy rain).
Time: medium. Tour interest: medium/high
