Access

From the A26 , take the exit for Santhia. Then, you must turn left onto the A4 (Turin), exiting at Borgo D'Ale. Afterwards, the direction is Cigliano and Caluso. Just before the latter, turn right towards the basin and Candia. Turning left into via Lago you go up to the village of Candia. Having found Via Santo Stefano, go up it briefly (it becomes a dirt road) to a large clearing on the left where you can leave your vehicle.

Introduction

In addition to visiting a characteristic sacred place, there are beautiful views of Lake Candia.

Description

As you ascend, the 14th-century tower of Castiglione immediately stands out. You are just above the village of Candia, on the hill of Santo Stefano.

Halfway up, a splendid view of the lake, the village and the surrounding areas emerges. In the middle section, the road becomes paved again but using a car risks losing the viewpoint.

In a short distance, the Romanesque church of Santo Stefano dating from the 11th century is reached. There are benches that are useful for resting, as well as a series of panels telling the history of the place.
