Bric Gavetta, from Agueta
Access
From the Arenzano (Ge) tollbooth, turn right towards Cogoleto and then turn right past the hospital (via del Giappone). Continue and, shortly afterwards, turn left at a crossroads, steeply uphill (via Pecorara), which then becomes very narrow. At the first crossroads, go first to the left and then to the right, ascending rapidly. At subsequent crossroads, always keep to the right and park when the road widens (270 m, loc. Agueta, restaurant on the right).
Introduction
A ring above Arenzano, shelters and paths between the mountains and the sea.
Description
We walk up the tarmac to Curlo, where there is a picnic area. Here we climb up the two red points and then leave the wide track to turn right onto the red A. Continue to the Scarpeggin shelter, a building that was restored in the 1990s. You are at an altitude of 502 m (45') and there is also a drinking fountain near the hut. After a short stop, you persevere along the red A, with a few ups and downs. After 50', there is a crossroads and you choose, on the left, the full white triangle on a steep ascent, which will take you to the Gavetta pass and the Bric of the same name. This is a little-known but very beautiful secondary path... We thus pass the ruins of Ca Ramà and in 40' we reach the Gavetta pass, 702 m. Another 10' and you reach Bric Gavetta, where the white symbol ends, at 781 m, with a wide view of the nearby peaks. Returning to Passo Gavetta, we reach the two red points (left) and almost level (10'), at the Ca di Gava hut, 735 m. Several paths cross the area and we choose the one that descends steeply through the vegetation towards the Riparo Levee (610 m), in 20'. You then return with A red (left), to the rock called 'Group'. Afterwards, we retrace the white M and finally the red white flag with C2, passing by Passo Gua, to the car park (90').
