Access

From the SS33 Sempione road, take the exit for Val Vigezzo; once you reach Malesco, follow the road to Va Loana, at the end of which you can park in Fondighebi.

How to get there with Google Maps

Introduction

A wonderful nature walk, offering the chance to immerse yourself in the Val Grande National Park. The final section of the walk, which involves the climb up to Pedum, is a little exposed and challenging, but reaching the summit is well worth the effort and hard work it takes to get there.

Description

From Fondighebi (1,256 m), head south along the entire valley, taking the clearly marked path that leads first to Alpe Cortenuovo (1,792 m), then toAlpe Scaredi (1,841 m). From Alpe Scaredi, follow the signpost for the summit of Laurasca, then turn right halfway up the slope to reach Bocchetta di Scaredi (2,095 m). Continuing along the ridge, which offers stunning views, you’ll reach Bocchetta di Campo (1,994 m), which has recently been refurbished and is available for bivouacking if required. From Bocchetta di Campo, you can admire the majesty of Mount Pedum. Descend along the tracks into the valley below until you reach the foot of the mountain – the route is very clear – and then begin the challenging ascent to the summit of Mount Pedum (2,111 m). The final climb is strenuous but fully rewarded by the beauty of the view.
