On 26 December 1909, Ortensia Ambrogina Adelaide Carlotta Aideé Pietrasanta, known as Ninì, was born in Bois-Colombes, near Paris. In 1929, she made the first female ascent of the north face of the Lyskamm Orientale. Between 1932 and 1936, she opened new routes in the Mont Blanc massif with Gabriele Boccalatte, including the west face of Punta Bich (1935). In 1932, Pointe Ninì was named after her.
