Killian Jornet i Burgada, a formidable Spanish athlete known for his many victories in ultra-trail races and ski mountaineering competitions, was born in Sabadell on 27 October 1987. Over the last few years, he has broken several speed records for ascents of major peaks, including the Matterhorn, Elbrus and McKinley.
